An Average adult cat sleeps per day 16-18 hours. It could be raised up to 20 hours for kittens and older cats. It’s not the same for every cat. When I was a first-time cat owner I noticed my cat sleeps so much. What are the real reasons for it?
Here are some possible causes why my cat sleeps a lot-
Napping vs sleeping
Most of the time, I noticed my cat sleep too much because 65% of the time, cats are afraid of their sleeping environment. Per day cats can sleep 12-20 hours, but this is separated between napping and sleeping. When a cat is napping, the cat responds very quickly. That’s why cats sleep is not perfect, and it is the leading cause of cats sleeping all day. Interestingly, Cats don’t like to sleep more days at the same place.
Sickness
Sometimes cats are more desperate out of the house than eating a few grasses and any other unhygienic food. Cats vomiting as a result of eating grass. The cat became very weak due to vomiting and sleeping more and more.
Fighting
Believe it or not, cats are always fighting same-gender cats. After the fight, the cat got hurt a lot and became very sick. For this reason, cats sleep a long time.
Weather
Weather indeed is one of the reasons cats sleep a lot. In the winter or rainy season, cats sleep longer and soundly.
Viral or Bacterial Infection
Usual viral infection or bacterial infection could be the reason for cats to sleep all day. Viruses and bacteria attack from some unhealthy foods.

Age
When a cat older, he habituated more sleep. A senior cat sleeps a lot, for as long as 18-20 hours a day. It is normal for senior cats to change sleeps patterns and sleeping more and more.
Lack of vitamins
Because of the lack of vitamins, cats sleep more times. In the other case, obesity is another reason for cats to sleep.
Sleeping is the basic activity of all living beings. While human sleeps 6-8 hours a day, cats sleep more than 12-18 hours. Not only do cats sleep all day, but also they are experts in it.
