Категорически не согласна!   Американский стаффордширский  терьер просто идеален для семьи с ребенком, а лучше с несколькими! Девочку стаффа покупали в 90-х, когда дочь была последний год в детском саду. Когда с собакой приходила забирать дочь, дети всегда бросались к собаке, и не понятно, кто больше радовался - собака или дети! Всеобщий восторг не описать. Уже с первого класса дочь самостоятельно выгуливала собаку без поводка и намордника. Мне было спокойно - с ребенком в присутствии такой собаки ничего плохого не могло случиться - не каждый взрослый рискнет подойти к такой собаке. Когда дома собирались подружки дочери, собака обожала находиться именно в той комнате, где были дети. Много можно рассказывать о жизни собаки в нашей семье,  только я уверена, что многие владельцы стаффов расскажут похожие истории. За всю жизнь наша собака никого не укусила, а вот моего отца укусил пудель, когда папа просто шел по улице, пудель подошел сзади и укусил за икру. Так наша стаффииня  лечила ногу - сначала просто зализывала рану, когда образовывались корочки на ране, она их аккуратно снимала зубами, и снова зализывала - чтобы под корочкой не было нагноения. Такая вот бойцовская собака.

Очень много зависит от воспитания. У меня была западно-сибирская лайка, собака охотничей породы. Так она не обидела ни одну из 6 кошек, которые жили дома, охраняла коляску моей только что родившийся племянницы, а в последствие с радостью играла с малюткой. Была очень послушной и воспитанной. Никого не подпускала к дому, только после команды СВОИ отходила от забора и пропускала человека. Очень любила спать на коленях. За всю свою жизнь ни разу никого не укусила. Более ласкового животного я не знала. Мы её растили в огромной любви и оттого она такая стала. В то же время, ее братики из того же помета были агрессивными рабочими собаками, дрались с другими собаками и были очень злыми. Ведь их растили для охоты. Выводы делайте сами.

Катерина, согласен насчет стаффов, но только при условии правильного воспитания. Такую же историю могу рассказать про кавказскую овчарку, дети 2х лет ее просто обожают, лазили руками в пасть, тянули за язык и хвост, лазили по ней, а она только поддерживала их игры и облизывала. Но это не значит, что большинство собак этой породы будут так себя вести, Только те у кого психика впорядке с детсва и кого с щеняцего возраста ростят рядом с маленькими детьми.
