The future of the Space rovers is in dogs’ paws

The BBC camera team Earth Unplugged shot very slo-mo short films of different animals shaking off the water: a dog, a rat and even a hedgehog. The interesting thing is that this beautiful piece of art has scientific value. The mechanism of how animals get rid of water might become the good basis for constructing a self-cleaning robot for a Mars rover that will be able «shake off» the dust just like a dog does it with extra water on its fur.
